Dewey students repurpose materials to create recycled bookmarks

Dewey Elementary third graders connected Earth Month to their recent STEAM/Makerspace library unit. Using paper making screens to create sheets of recycled paper, students created more than 300 bookmarks to share with their Dewey classmates!

D65’s vision for library class is to have every student engaged in the multiple literacies needed for our society (information, media, digital and personal literacy). Librarians develop interactive lessons that allow students to create and express their interpretations of what is read. Librarians also work with staff and families to make loving reading and exploring information a community priority.
