New PTA Newsletter | Nuevo boletín de la PTA

New Newsletter at Smore.com
In case you missed the first edition before the winter break, the PTA is trying out a new newsletter program, S'More, the same tool used by Ms. Newsome, to share information with our school community. You can read the info in your email or click on it and view it in your browser where you can access links and other features. S'More offers a translation feature that allows for readers to change the text into their chosen language. We welcome feedback about how you like this new format for newsletters and if the translation feature is working for you. Please reach out to deweytigerspta@gmail.com.
TRANSLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1 - Click on the Translate button
This button can be found at the top of the emailed newsletter.
Step 2 - Access the Translation and ADA bar
On the right side of the newsletter, you'll see the ADA and Translation features. To translate your newsletter, click on the Translate button and choose your desired language.

En caso de que se haya perdido la primera edición antes de las vacaciones de invierno, la PTA está probando un nuevo programa de boletín informativo, S'More, la misma herramienta utilizada por la Sra. INSTRUCCIONES DE TRADUCCIÓN:
Paso 1 : haga clic en el botón Traducir

Winter Break Bingo UPDATE | Bingo de vacaciones de invierno ACTUALIZACIÓN

Due to the end of year scramble and e-learning day, not all students received their Bingo boards. Teachers should send them home this week and students can fill them out and submit them until next Tuesday, January 17th to be included in the book raffle. Here's the info and a link to the activity.
Read, write, explore and engage with the Dewey and Evanston community with this fun BINGO activity. Your student will get a paper copy sent home or you can find it HERE.
Any student that completes and returns their BINGO card after winter break will be entered into a raffle to win a gift certificate to Booked book store in Evanston.

Debido al día de scramble y e-learning de fin de año, no todos los estudiantes recibieron sus cartones de bingo. Los maestros deben enviarlos a casa esta semana y los estudiantes pueden completarlos y enviarlos hasta el próximo martes 17 de enero para ser incluidos en la rifa de libros. Aquí tenéis la info y un enlace a la actividad.
Lea, escriba, explore e interactúe con la comunidad de Dewey y Evanston con esta divertida actividad de BINGO. Su estudiante recibirá una copia en papel enviada a casa o puede encontrarla AQUÍ .

The 5th Grade Dewey Doers are planning a food drive to benefit local food pantries. Specific details will be shared after winter break, but save the date for collective effort to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by serving our greater community together.

In-School Bookery | Reserva en la escuela

January Bookery will take place in-school at the Bookery book nook on the 2nd floor. Teachers sign up for a time slot for their class and students come and pick one free book. We are always accepting donations of new or gently used, elementary aged books so please drop them in the box in the front of the school or the main office. Sign up HERE to help set-up and take-down each month. Also, we will be organizing books after school on Wednesday, January 18th. For anyone interested in joining the effort, please each out to deweytigerspta@gmail.com. THANKS!

Bookery de enero se llevará a cabo en la escuela en el rincón de libros de Bookery en el segundo piso.
